From Page to Stage combines the talents of tutors
from the acclaimed creative business writing
programme Dark Angels with leading figures from
Welsh National Opera and comes in two acts, in
two inspirational settings, separated by a few weeks.
The course is aimed at people who need to write
effectively and communicate powerfully in business
and will be a unique way to give individuals
and businesses a competitive advantage.
In Act 1, (held at Ty Newydd, the National
Writers' Centre for Wales), participants will
explore and develop creative writing and storytelling
skills that make business writing more effective.
In Act 2 (held here at Wales Millennium Centre),
participants will acquire techniques that will
give them greater presence, confidence and power
when making business presentations.

in their spare time to come forward and contribute to
a new film project and attend workshops.

Tornado Films is searching for new young Welsh talent
to be part of an exciting new musical feature film project.
Under the working title ‘The Food of Love’,
this innovative project aims to be the first
of its kind in Wales – a film musical created
by young people with the guidance of film industry
professionals. Tornado currently need songwriters,
composers, lyricists, producers and programmers
to attend workshops that will give young people
the opportunity to show exactly what they can do,
leading to the writing of the songs that will become
the film’s musical score. Any musical style is
welcome, and no previous experience is required,
just talent, commitment and ambition!
The first of the workshops take place on
August 12th, 13th and 14th
at various locations in South East Wales,
and registration is free. Young people aged
13-17 can register for the workshops and find
more information at

PRACTICAL COURSE FOR YOUNG ACTORS
The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is launching
the Young Actors Studio (YAS),
dedicated to providing top-quality training
for young actors before they go on to higher education.
This unique, non-exam based course, starting on
Sundays in September 2008, will cover all the
essential areas required to be a successful actor,
developing individual performance skills to a
very high level. Students will work in small workshop-
style groups concentrating on areas such as acting,
movement, singing, combat and voice (oratory).
Bursaries, funded by the University of Glamorgan,

FFRESH AWARD FOR D10 INTERACTIVE MEDIA GAME
Congratulations to five of Cyfle's 2007 Dimension 10 trainees
for receiving the award for
Best Interactive Media project at Ffresh this year.
The interactive game 'Orball' was created
during the six month course in response to
an industry brief provided by
international gaming company Mygo Solutions, Kuala Lumpur.
Creators of 'The House', another Dimension 10 project,
were also nominated within the same category.
Indeed, a heartfelt congratulations to all 10 trainees
for further recognition of their work,
as well as receiving a University of Wales, Lampeter
Post Graduate Diploma in Interactive Media for their efforts!
